Irene Rusconi was a Project Assistant at TEPSA in the first half of 2024. She supported the many projects of the TEPSA team, including the implementation of the EU-Bridge project (TEPSA’s Operating Grant) as well as supported certain tasks within the scope of TEPSA’s Horizon Europe-funded projects. In addition to this, she supported the communication and dissemination of TEPSA’s activities including the production of video content and social media promotional materials.

She was previously a Research Assistant at the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) in Rome, one of TEPSA’s Member Institutes, precisely within the “EU, politics and institutions” programme. At the Institute, she carried out data collection, research, and in-depth study of various sources on the EU and its inherent policies; she drafted related documents, including a policy brief; contributed to the drafting and translation of the contributions; and assisted in the communication and event organisation activities. She participated in the 2022 TEPSA Academy on EU Security and Defence Policies. Her main areas of interest are EU foreign policy, with a particular focus on security and defence and enlargement policy. She holds an M.A. in International Relations, a Major in Security, and a B.A. in Political Sciences from the LUISS Guido Carli University, in Rome, Italy, and has completed an Erasmus experience at Sciences Po Paris (PSIA).
