Ailish Campbell is the Ambassador of Canada to the European Union (EU). In this role she leads Canada’s diplomatic representation to the EU, Canada’s second largest trade and investment partner at over $110B in two-way trade and $500B in two-way FDI. Policy leadership from Ambassador Campbell and the Canada team based in Brussels includes: trade and supply chains, foreign policy, financial services, R&D and innovation including AI and digital regulation, industrial policy, migration policy, security and defence and Justice.

Ambassador Campbell is passionate about digital delivery and data analytics to improve services to citizens. She is a frequent public speaker on trade, economic issues and global risk management. She holds a Doctorate in International Relations from the University of Oxford, where she was a Lecturer. She holds an MSc (Econ) from the London School of Economics, and a BA (Honours) from Queen’s University. In 2021 she was named a Fellow of the Aspen Institute’s Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
