RECLAIM

Recent years have witnessed the emergence of a set of processes and phenomena that are frequently referred to as post-truth politics and which constitute a fundamental challenge, potentially even an existential threat, to liberal democracy as we have come to understand it. Under the title “Reclaiming Liberal Democracy in the Post-Factual Age” (RECLAIM), this project aimed to study the implication of post-truth politics on the future of liberal democracy in Europe.

The main ambition of the project was to generate evidence-based policy recommendations as well as narratives, toolkits and methods/methodologies that serve to moderate the effects of post-truth politics on liberal democracy and its institutions. TEPSA was in charge of Work Package 10 with a focus on Impact, Dissemination and Sustainability, and in the framework of this Work Package, we create videos, animations and infographics in addition to hosting major events and competitions.

RECLAIM was a consortium project under the leadership of the University of Iceland in a coordinating role. Beyond the University of Iceland, the RECLAIM consortium included the Institute of International Relations (Czech Republic), the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), the Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain), the Trans European Policy Studies Association (Belgium), Goldsmiths, University of London (UK), the University of Oslo – ARENA (Norway), the Jagiellonian University (Poland), Scuola Normale Superiore (Italy), Istituto Affari Internazionali (Italy), the Institute for Development and International Relations (Croatia), New Bulgarian University (Bulgaria), and the Liechtenstein Institute (Liechtenstein).
