EU-Bridge

TEPSA is a beneficiary of an Operating Grant awarded in the framework of the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme of the European Union for the period 2022-2025. Within its work programme, TEPSA organises a number of events both in Brussels and in the member states, in cooperation with its member institutes. The Operating grant also supports the statutory activities of the TEPSA Secretariat, such as the meetings of the governing bodies and TEPSA’s communication activities.

EU-Bridge is the backbone of TEPSA’s activities, and supports all of our flagship initiatives, including the flagship ‘EuropeChats’ video series in which we discuss contemporary challenges and issues in EU affairs with leading experts, and the publication of our annual book in the ‘Future of Europe’ series in which each new volume edited by Michael Kaeding, Johannes Pollak and Paul Schmidt collects 40 analyses of national attitudes to a given policy challenge from across the European continent.

TEPSA’s Pre-Presidency Conferences, biannual events in which we discuss the challenges and opportunities facing each incoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union, as well as the regular Recommendations from members of the TEPSA network to each new presidency, are also a part of the EU-Bridge project.

In EU-Bridge, we are bridging the gap not only between policy-makers and academics, but also between academics and the European public, young Europeans with practitioners, and the national level with the European level in general. We are very proud of our initiatives within the EU-Bridge project, so stay tuned to our website, newsletter, and social channels to keep updated on TEPSA’s activities.

Citizens’ engagement in EU affairs is the key channel to strengthen democratic resilience, which relies on empowered citizens who can freely enjoy their fundamental rights, make their views known, and actively contribute to democratic debate. This should include all people, regardless of their gender, age, (dis)ability, ethnic origin, or sexual orientation. TEPSA is committed in the implementation of all its projects to counter structural inequality by promoting equal and inclusive access to our activities in order to ensure that all participants, in all their diversity, benefit from our initiatives in a non-discriminatory way.

Within the framework of the EU-Bridge project, in 2024 TEPSA celebrated its own 50th anniversary and marked that of the European Council. This was done via a number of informational and education activities, in addition to the hosting of a major conference in Brussels. Learn more about TEPSA’s anniversary activities here.
