TEPSA starts project to Reclaim Liberal Democracy in the Postfactual Age

From 2022, TEPSA implements its new Horizon-funded project “RECLAIM”

BRUSSELS, 14/10/2022: In the framework of the Horizon programme of the European Union, TEPSA has received funding to implement the project “RECLAIM” as part of a continent-wide consortium of leading research institutes and universities.

Recent years have witnessed the emergence of a set of processes and phenomena that are frequently referred to as post-truth politics and which constitute a fundamental challenge, potentially even an existential threat, to liberal democracy as we have come to understand it. Under the title â€śReclaiming Liberal Democracy in the Postfactual Age” (RECLAIM), this project aims to study the implication of post-truth politics on the future of liberal democracy in Europe.

The main ambition of the project is to generate evidence-based policy recommendations as well as narrativestoolkits and methodologies that serve to moderate the effects of post-truth politics on liberal democracy and its institutions.

Within the scope of the RECLAIM project, TEPSA will implement a number of activities to raise awareness of the challenges posed by post-truth politics, as well as educate Europeans of all ages about the value and benefits of fighting for liberal democracy. This will be done via content creationevents organisation, and training initiatives.
