Our Mission
TEPSA is the first EU affairs research network, consisting of leading research institutes throughout Europe, with headquarters in Brussels. Ever since our founding in 1974, our network has provided the best policy analysis, assessment, and advice to policy-makers, and we continue to bridge the gap between research, policy-making, and citizens to this day.
Our decentralised approach combines the strengths of our Member Institutes and enriches the results of their work. This approach means that TEPSA exemplifies the bottom-up approach to European governance, linking the EU level to the national level, and to the citizens.
We do all this by conducting research projects, developing teaching programmes, organising conferences, and facilitating interaction between the research and policy-making communities and between citizens from different Member States and beyond. Our work is always undertaken in close cooperation with our network, EU institutions, national governments, universities, and civil society.
Our Structure
TEPSA is an international non-profit association under Belgian law (AISBL) and was established in 1974. We are a membership based organisation covering all of Europe, including with Member Institutes across not only the European Union, but also in many neighbouring countries.
We are governed by our members in a General Assembly, which elects the TEPSA Board every three years. At the head of the Board is an elected Chairperson. The TEPSA Secretariat is based in Brussels, from where it coordinates the association’s day-to-day management and the implementation of our projects. Leading the Secretariat are the Secretary-General and Executive Director.
