SEnECA Kick-Off meeting on Strengthening and Energizing EU – Central Asia relations

From 23 to 24 January 2018, the SEnECA Kick-Off meeting took place, hosted by IEP (Institut fuer Europaeische Politik) Berlin. This meeting has been the first opportunity for the consortium to come together after the start of the SEnECA project on 1 January 2018. For two days, the 12 Consortium partners met and worked on launching their collaboration to strengthen and energise EU-Central Asia relations. Sylvie Rohana of the European Commission first gave an overview on the Horizon 2020 programme. The partners then presented their work packages, tasks and activities during the project lifetime and discussed the work plan and the cooperation within the project in detail. The partners also met and discussed EU-Central Asia relations with Michael Siebert of the German Federal Foreign Office, Head of the Division on Central Asia and the Southern Caucasus.

More About SEnECA

An international consortium, with twelve partner organisations from the EU and Central Asia mapped and analysed the relations between the two regions in order to make recommendations to stakeholders on future research cooperation, policies and communication. The project was funded with around 1.5 million Euros under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme for a period of two years.
