How do journalists respond to disinformation?

This infographic is based on the RECLAIM report “Journalists’ responses: Case studies comparative report“, written by Jacopo Custodi, Hans-Joerg Trenz, and Martin Moland. The report presents and analyses the comparative results of an investigation conducted in late 2023 and early 2024 on journalism and its relationship with the issue of dis/misinformation in 7 different countries – Poland, Norway, Croatia, Spain, Iceland, Italy and Bulgaria.

In recent years, disinformation has fuelled mistrust between and among politicians, the media, and citizens. Post-truth politics threatens the journalistic standards of the European media system and triggers the fragmentation of both national and international journalism. To address these issues, high quality journalism with rigorous investigative standards is needed.

What are journalists’ solutions to the challenges of post-truth politics? And what is their attitude towards transnational collaboration? Read the report here and download the infographic to find out more.
