Abstract:
Despite wide acceptance as a concept and a privileged position as a founding principle in law and society, the quest for equality remains distant. The mere framing of equality in law is inadequate in addressing inequality in fact. This brief seeks to articulate why equality matters and what it has to offer from a pragmatic perspective in the context of the collective crises facing societies.
