How can journalists minimise the challenges they face in the post-truth era? Do we need to rethink how journalism functions?
This TEPSA Animated Explainer, created in collaboration with the RECLAIM project, focuses on what we, as news consumers, want from the media. The video is based on the findings of the RECLAIM publication, “Reinforcing or Rethinking? What do News Consumers Want from Journalism in the Post-truth Era?”, written by Martin Moland, Jacopo Custodi and Hans-Jörg-Trenz.
Objectivity, transparency and rigorous fact-checking are essential elements of a healthy media ecosystem. As part of the Horizon-funded “Reclaiming Liberal Democracy in the Post-Factual Age” (RECLAIM) project, a consortium of pan-European analysts and experts are investigating the impact of post-truth politics on journalism and liberal democracy and looking for ways to mitigate it.
