Mariam holds an MA in Central and East European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies, jointly awarded by the University of Glasgow and University of Tartu. Prior to this, she worked as a Program Development Specialist at the United Nations Association of Georgia, following her role as a Program Associate within the USAID Unity Through Diversity Program, which focused on the civic and economic integration of ethnic and religious minorities into society. During her role as a Public Affairs Intern at the U.S. Embassy in Georgia, Mariam was part of the press team, identifying key issues concerning the U.S.-Georgia bilateral relations.

Mariam’s main interests include international development, EU neighborhood policy, and Russian Studies. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, complemented by the two Erasmus+ ICM exchange semesters at the Østfold University College and University College Dublin.
