Democratic Engagement & Disinformation: What Do Young People Think?

This infographic is based on answers given by the participants of the Media Literacy Incubator: Countering the Impact of Disinformation in Croatia, organised with the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO) in Zagreb on 15 May 2026.

The event gathered participants aged 18-30 to explore the impact of disinformation on democratic engagement and develop practical skills for analysing media content, recognising and countering disinformation.

At the beginning and end of the workshop, participants were asked for their opinions on a number of questions. Can disinformation be tackled? What are the most effective tools to counter fake news? And which sources can be trusted? Read the infographic to learn more about their perspectives.
