Has enlargement become the EU’s security policy? – Discussion with Frank Schimmelfennig and Tyyne Karjalainen

This episode of EuropeChats is a discussion between Frank Schimmelfennig, Professor at ETH Zurich, Tyyne Karjalainen, Research Fellow at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs, and TEPSA Executive Director, Mariam Khotenashvili.

In particular, the conversation explores the benefits and challenges of this proposal and its implications in terms of security guarantees, political participation and the future of European integration. It also examines the EU’s enlargement process and questions whether unanimity in enlargement policy is diminishing the EU’s credibility.
